Bottled Gas and LPG Questions
The questions we get asked most about bottled gas and bulk LPG, answered in one place.
Who delivers bottled gas in Inishowen?
Northwest Gas Company, a family-run LPG supplier in Carndonagh. We deliver gas cylinders across the Inishowen peninsula and to Letterkenny, and you can order online.
Do you deliver gas cylinders to Letterkenny?
Yes. Northwest Gas delivers bottled gas across Inishowen and to Letterkenny. Order online or ring 074 93 74677.
Do you sell Calor gas?
Yes. The cylinders we supply are Calor cylinders: Calor owns and fills them, and we deliver and exchange them.
What cylinder sizes do you have?
Butane 5kg and 11.34kg. Propane 6kg, 11kg, 13.15kg, 19kg, 34kg and 47kg. Patio gas 6kg and 11kg. Each size has its live price on the shop page, VAT included.
How does a cylinder exchange work?
Swap your empty for a full one and you pay for the gas only. A refill without an exchange carries a service charge. Cylinders of 13kg and under can be exchanged for each other, patio gas only for patio gas, and cylinders over 13kg with each other.
Do you supply bulk LPG?
Yes. Northwest Gas supplies, delivers and installs bulk LPG across the North West of Ireland and Northern Ireland, as far south as Sligo. Bulk is quoted directly, not sold online. See bulk LPG.
Do you install LPG tanks?
Yes. We survey the site first, install the tank, size it to what you actually use, and then keep you topped up on a delivery schedule by our own road tanker.
Can I switch to you from another bulk LPG supplier?
Usually, yes, once you are out of contract, and it is often more straightforward than people expect. Ring 074 93 74677 and we will talk you through where you stand.
Who uses bulk LPG?
Restaurants, takeaways and coffee shops, hotels and guesthouses, care homes, caravan and holiday parks, poultry and livestock houses, farms, workshops, schools, and homes with no mains gas. If you are changing cylinders more often than is convenient, bulk usually makes sense.
What is LPG?
Liquefied petroleum gas: propane and butane. It is the closest thing to mains gas for homes and businesses off the gas grid, and it runs heating, cooking and process equipment.
I am in Derry. Can you supply me?
Bottled gas in Derry is handled by our sister company Foyle Gas on Springtown Road. Bulk LPG in Derry comes from us.
